GOLD Token Tied to Real Trump Coins Falls From $50M to $500K Market Cap in Hours
On-chain data from one analytics firm shows 15 wallets sold 224.5M GOLD for $330K as the Solana token's market cap collapsed 99%.

A Solana token called “Trump Digital GOLD” saw its market capitalization fall from about $50 million to roughly $500,000 within hours of launch on Saturday, according to on-chain data tracked by analytics platform Lookonchain and pricing from DEX Screener. Fifteen wallets that Lookonchain linked to the token’s team sold 224.5 million GOLD for 3,178 SOL, worth about $330,000, after acquiring those tokens for just $18,657.
The token was promoted by Real Trump Coins, a brand US President Donald Trump publicly backed in 2024 and whose X account Trump’s own official account follows. Posts touting the GOLD launch were later deleted from the Real Trump Coins account.
What the On-Chain Trail Shows
Lookonchain’s numbers form the factual backbone of this story. The firm reported that the token’s developer wallet held 600 million GOLD at launch, while 15 newly created wallets spent $18,657 to buy an additional 224.5 million tokens.
“The team currently controls 82.45% of the total supply,” Lookonchain said, urging caution shortly after the launch. Those same 15 wallets then dumped their full holdings for 3,178 SOL, an amount Lookonchain valued at roughly $330,000, implying a profit near $312,000, or about 17 times the initial outlay.
DEX Screener’s price feed shows the resulting collapse: GOLD’s market cap dropped from around $50 million to about $500,000, a decline in the 98-99% range depending on the exact snapshot timestamp used. “GOLD just rugged!” Lookonchain wrote, summarizing the sell-off.
One Analytics Source, Repeated Across Outlets
Every wallet count, supply percentage and dollar figure in circulation around this collapse traces back to a single upstream source: Lookonchain. Multiple outlets have republished the same figures, which is not the same as two independent verifications of the underlying event.
This is not a claim that the numbers are wrong. Lookonchain’s on-chain tracing methodology is transparent and checkable against wallet addresses and transaction data. But readers relying on aggregated snapshots from DEX Screener should note that rapid, thin-liquidity moves like this one can produce quoted prices that lag the real-time order book by seconds, which matters when a token’s market cap swings by tens of millions of dollars in a single session.
Website Still Promotes the Token
As of publication, the Real Trump Coins website continued advertising GOLD, listing a 4% trading fee and a pledge to direct 99% of that fee toward token buybacks with the stated goal of making GOLD a top-10 crypto asset by market capitalization. That commitment sits uneasily next to a token that has already shed nearly all of its value.
Crypto observers have questioned whether the Real Trump Coins X account or website was compromised, given the gap between the brand’s public promotion and the immediate sell-off by team-linked wallets. Neither outlet reporting on the collapse has confirmed that theory with a named source or on-chain evidence tying the compromise claim to a specific transaction.
The 82.45% supply concentration Lookonchain flagged at launch remains the single clearest data point explaining why the sell-off was possible at all. No regulatory statement or exchange delisting has followed as of this writing.
