Capital B Buys 376 BTC for €25.3M; Sources Split on Treasury Total
Capital B confirms a €25.3M raise for 376 BTC, but its own tweet and a second outlet disagree on the treasury's total holdings.

Capital B, the Euronext Growth-listed bitcoin treasury company, disclosed on September 7 that it raised €25.3 million and used the proceeds to buy 376 BTC. That much is confirmed by two independent reports, Bitcoin Magazine and NewsBTC, both pointing back to the company’s own disclosure. Where the two accounts diverge is on the size of the resulting treasury.
What’s verified: the €25.3 million raise, the 376 BTC purchase, and the company’s identity as a Euronext Growth-listed European bitcoin treasury. What’s unresolved: the post-purchase total, which appears as either 3,521 BTC or “more than 1,800 BTC” depending on the outlet, and an average purchase price of €67,287 per coin that appears in only one of the two reports.
The Confirmed Number: 376 BTC, €25.3 Million
Bitcoin Magazine cited a company post on X stating Capital B had acquired 376 BTC for €25.3 million (over $29 million) and reported a BTC Yield of 2.17% year to date. That figure matches NewsBTC’s independent account of the same €25.3 million raise funding the same 376 BTC purchase. Two outlets agreeing on the core transaction size is the strongest signal in this story.
Beyond that, the picture gets murkier. Bitcoin Magazine, quoting the company’s own announcement, put Capital B’s total holdings at 3,521 BTC after the purchase, worth over $277 million at the time of reporting, and cited Bitcoin Treasuries data ranking it the 25th-largest publicly traded bitcoin treasury in the world. NewsBTC, however, described the company’s total treasury reserve as “more than 1,800 BTC.” That is not a rounding gap. It’s a difference of roughly 1,700 coins, and neither report explains it.
Why the Totals Don’t Line Up
The 3,521 BTC figure traces directly to the company’s own social post, which is a primary source for the number. The 1,800 BTC figure has no attributed origin in the NewsBTC account beyond the outlet’s own framing. It could reflect an older snapshot, a cached total that predates several 2026 capital raises, or simply an editorial error. Without a second primary-source confirmation, Cryptaur treats the 1,800 BTC figure as unverified and the 3,521 BTC figure, sourced to the company’s own disclosure, as the stronger read.
The average purchase price of €67,287 per coin, reported only by NewsBTC, falls into the same single-sourced category. It is not necessarily wrong. It simply hasn’t appeared in a second independent account, so it should be read as reported rather than confirmed.
Context Both Outlets Share
Both reports agree on the surrounding timeline. A week before the September 7 purchase, Capital B said Blockstream chief Adam Back had invested €7.6 million ($8.8 million) directly into the company. In August, Capital B raised €21 million ($24 million) in a private placement backed by Back and asset manager TOBAM. In May, the company bought 192 coins for €13 million following three separate capital raises.
Capital B’s stock traded 2% lower on the day of the announcement, per Bitcoin Magazine. The company describes itself as Europe’s first bitcoin treasury company and has built most of its position through repeated fundraising rounds across the first half of 2026 rather than a single large purchase.
Readers using either total for downstream calculations, market cap comparisons, treasury rankings, or yield models, should note the source before citing a number. The 376 BTC purchase and €25.3 million raise stand on two-source confirmation. The total treasury size does not, at least not yet.
