Shiba Inu Gains 6.76% but Trails Bitcoin’s Bounce Toward $65,000
SHIB rose 6.76% as its team cheered bear "cardio," but the token still underperformed Bitcoin and Ethereum's rebound.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) climbed 6.76% in the latest trading session, but the meme token still lagged the broader market as Bitcoin and Ethereum posted stronger gains during the same stretch. The relative underperformance came even as Shiba Inu’s own social channels leaned into a bullish narrative, quipping that bears “chose cardio” over fighting the rally.
The 6.76% move puts SHIB back in positive territory for the period, but the gap versus Bitcoin and Ethereum underscores a pattern that has persisted through much of the current market cycle: large-cap assets are absorbing more of the risk-on flow than mid-tier meme tokens.
Bitcoin tests $65,000 as SHIB fights to keep pace
Bitcoin traded near $64,843 during the same window, sitting almost equidistant between a potential push to $70,000 and a slide back toward $60,000. That positions $65,000 as the immediate pivot for BTC’s short-term direction, with the broader trend still described as negative even as the technical structure gives a slight edge to bulls in the near term.
XRP, meanwhile, remains locked in its own battle to hold the psychologically important $1 level. The mixed signals across the top of the market — Bitcoin hunting for direction, XRP defending a round number, and SHIB trailing both — point to a market where neither bulls nor bears have fully taken control.
Why the SHIB-BTC gap matters
For SHIB holders, the 6.76% gain is a welcome bounce, but the underperformance relative to Bitcoin and Ethereum is the more telling signal. When large-cap assets outrun meme tokens during a recovery, it typically reflects institutional and larger-ticket capital rotating first into BTC and ETH, leaving retail-heavy tokens like SHIB to catch up later — if at all.
Traders watching SHIB will be looking for confirmation that the rally can extend beyond a single session, particularly with Bitcoin’s own direction still undecided between $60,000 and $70,000. Until Bitcoin resolves that range, SHIB’s price action is likely to stay tethered to broader market sentiment rather than any standalone catalyst.
