Strategy Pledges $250/Year, $1,000 Newborn Match to Staff’s Trump Accounts
Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy joins Coinbase and Morgan Stanley, adding $250 annual and $1,000 newborn deposits to employees' Trump Accounts.

Strategy, the Nasdaq-listed bitcoin treasury company (MSTR), will deposit $250 a year into a Trump Account for every eligible child under 18 of its U.S. employees, the firm announced on August 5. For children born on or after January 1, 2025, Strategy will also make a one-time $1,000 contribution during the child’s birth year, matching the seed deposit the U.S. Treasury provides to newborns enrolled in the program.
The Tysons Corner, Virginia-based company said the annual $250 payments apply “regardless of when the child was born,” meaning eligible employees with children already under 18 will start receiving the yearly contribution once the program is operational. Strategy has joined the Invest America Business Pledge, the same framework Coinbase and Morgan Stanley have signed onto in recent months for their own workforce contributions.
Two figures, one federal savings vehicle
Trump Accounts were created under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law in 2025, and are designed to let private employers stack additional deposits on top of the federal government’s $1,000 newborn seed contribution. Strategy’s structure mirrors that baseline exactly for the one-time payment, then adds a recurring $250 annual deposit that is not tied to a child’s birth date — a distinction that separates it from a pure matching scheme.
Strategy said the benefit will not begin immediately. Contributions are contingent on the U.S. Treasury issuing final guidance on the program and on employer contribution systems becoming operational, a timeline the company has not yet pinned down.
Phong Le frames it as a values match
Strategy president and CEO Phong Le said in a statement that “Trump Accounts and the Invest America initiative can help build a stronger financial future for America’s children,” adding that the program can encourage “financial education, long term thinking, and a culture of saving and investing from an early age” — goals he described as closely aligned with Strategy’s corporate values.
Coinbase and Morgan Stanley have previously announced comparable employee contribution programs tied to Trump Accounts, positioning Strategy as the latest crypto-adjacent public company to attach its brand — and its balance sheet — to the federal savings initiative rather than solely to bitcoin accumulation, the strategy that has defined the firm since it began stacking BTC on its corporate balance sheet.
Why it matters for MSTR watchers
For a company whose market identity is built almost entirely around its bitcoin treasury, a fixed-dollar employee benefit program is a modest but notable diversification of corporate messaging. The dollar amounts involved — $250 per child annually and a $1,000 newborn match — are small relative to Strategy’s balance sheet, but the move signals an effort to broaden its public profile beyond BTC accumulation headlines and align with a federal policy initiative that other major financial and crypto firms are also backing.
