XRPL’s LendingProtocolV1_1 Opens for Validator Vote, Needs Two Prior Amendments
Two outlets confirm RippleX opened validator voting on LendingProtocolV1_1, a step toward native lending on the XRP Ledger mainnet.

RippleX has opened validator voting on LendingProtocolV1_1, an amendment that governs how pooled capital inside the XRP Ledger’s planned native lending system can be used. Two independent outlets, CoinGape and U.Today, confirm the vote is now live and describe it as a required step before lending goes live on the XRPL mainnet.
What two sources actually confirm
Both reports agree on the core mechanics. LendingProtocolV1_1 does not stand alone. It extends two earlier amendments, LendingProtocol and SingleAssetVault, and according to RippleX it must activate alongside those two originals rather than on its own. That dependency structure is the piece of the story that both CoinGape and U.Today independently report, which is why Cryptaur treats it as established rather than single-sourced chatter.
The amendment changes how capital locked in a vault can be deployed for lending, a necessary building block before any XRPL-native credit product can launch. Validators now have the amendment available to evaluate and vote on, which is the standard gating mechanism the XRP Ledger uses before any protocol change goes live.
Details still resting on a single source
U.Today adds specifics that Cryptaur could not verify against a second outlet in the material reviewed: the amendment was reportedly announced on September 30, bundled with two architectural changes described as closed-ended lending vaults and cash-basis accounting, and traced back to XRP Ledger server version 3.4.0, released September 16, which first introduced LendingProtocolV1_1 into the “xrpld” codebase.
None of that is contradicted by CoinGape’s account. It simply is not independently repeated there, so it carries the weight of a single-sourced detail rather than a confirmed fact. That distinction matters more than it sounds. A dependency chain confirmed by two newsrooms reading the same validator vote is a different kind of claim than a version number and release date lifted from one report.
Why the vote itself is the milestone, not the finish line
Opening validator voting is not the same as activation. XRPL amendments typically require sustained validator support over a set threshold before they go live on mainnet, and LendingProtocolV1_1’s own requirement that it activate jointly with LendingProtocol and SingleAssetVault adds another layer of coordination before XRPL lending becomes operational for users or integrators.
For builders tracking XRPL’s DeFi roadmap, the practical takeaway is narrower than headlines suggest: a vote has opened, not a product. Anyone pricing in a live lending market on XRP Ledger should watch for confirmed activation of all three linked amendments, not just the opening of this one vote, before treating the feature as shipped.
